So here I was in Austin at a cool used and new cd store called CHEAPO.(small plug for the store there...hehe.) Anyway, they put on some Generation X....and I was like wow there is a band I know that sounds like them...Well...I finally realize that it was The Zeros.
Is it just me that would think that...or is it that at my old age, I'm going deaf? haha.

You are going deaf. I don't hear that one at all. But then again, I am a HUGE Generation X lover, and I think Zeros only have one great album, and the rest bite. But no, totally different styles all around, IMO.

For Gen X lovers, Tony James has written a quite
comprehensive overview of the Gen X days on the
Sputnik site: http://www.sputnikworld.com/
Click 'History'.

Of course I was a Gen X fan, where do ya think the name Fridayz Angel came from.
1st album was cracking.
Loved 'Ready Steady go' (The Song), it was one of the 1st Punk singles I bought while still at school.
Valley of the Dolls had a great cover and obviously had most of the hit singles. Another good album.

Only thinkin yesterday I don't have any Sputnik on cd or mp3. What reminded me of the fact was hearing the Sputnik riff on a Ginger track on his latest cd.
Gonna have to dig out my vinyl album and singles of Sputnik, and get recordin'!, unless anyone has them on MP3 already?
